Itz Jaleel Talks Pursuit of Dreams, Music City & “Anyway” single

Nashville rapper Itz Jaleel presents the 3am-directed music video for “Anyway”, his latest single release produced by RandyHitz.

The song comes on the heels of his most popular 2021 single/video release “S.O.N.”. Featuring fellow Nashville rapper J, the album titled S.O.N. helped the artist gain notoriety thus, pushing him to release his first single track for 2022 “Bossin’ Up”. Jaleel had this to say about “Anyway”, “No matter how tough the odds are, I’m going to hustle to get what I need. With recent success around me I’m 100% motivated to chase my dreams, while realizing I’m not tolerating anymore false support or negatives around me. At the end of the day I’ve been overworking to support my own dreams, and I’m confident in myself.”

What can you tell us about the track “Anyway”? What was your inspiration? Thoughts behind the hook? Music video?

“Anyway” is my expression of not giving up by staying in pursuit of your dreams no matter the obstacles you might face. I was inspired by the continuous work that I put in to elevate my music career, and some obstacles that I’ve gone through personally. The hook is about reaching my dreams anyway I have to and not shying away from the grind I have to put in to succeed.

How has growing up in Nashville, the Music City, influenced your style of music?

Growing up in Music City influenced my style of music by making me more open to different sounds when creating my art. The city showed me how people can all come together and have a good experience because of good music.

Who are you often compared to? why? How do you distinguish yourself from those artists?

I distinguish myself by creating content that’s true to myself and my people, and incorporating different sounds and lyricism.

What are your thoughts on the industry today and the direction it’s going?

I think the industry today is thriving off a lot of new young artists making their way into the game, and now there’s more room for independent artists to make a name for themselves too.

What can we expect to see/hear from you in the future as far as new projects?

I have two more single tracks to release before the year is over. My next show is in November at the Dear Music Festival in Atlanta.

Any shoutouts?

Shout out to the producer for the track RandyHitz, my engineer LangstonHues, and videographer 3_amedia.
