Skepta blasted a 23-year-old model on X after video showed him hugging 13-year-old North West at the Vetements show during Paris Fashion Week.

Fashion week is supposed to be a study in codes and choreography: handshakes, hugs, a quick paparazzi pose. A clip from Paris, though, turned those unspoken rules into a debate about consent and body language after Skepta publicly reprimanded a model for how he greeted 13-year-old North West.
On Friday (June 26), North West attended the Vetements Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show at Paris Fashion Week and was filmed being greeted by model Matteo Sinet, 23. The footage shows North extending a hand for a handshake while Matteo leans in for a side hug; North goes with the hug, the two pose for a couple of press photos, and then separate.
Within 24 hours the clip had landed on X, and Skepta—who has a sizable platform and little patience for what he sees as poor judgment around minors—did not hold back. Posting the video, he wrote, “A blind man could see she wanted a handshake kmt,” and followed with, “My fans know I try to stay out of peoples business but damn the way grown men, complete strangers, try to use North makes me sick.”
“What are you talking about?!” he replied to a follower who suggested a hug might not be a problem. “She is 13 years old and she put her hand out for a handshake, you don\’t ignore that. I can\’t believe some these replies to my tweet.”
He continued, “Protect your kids people. Protect your kids! Sickening [barf emoji] schools teaching French, German & English when really the language most people need to f**king learn is \’Body Language.\'”
Not everyone agreed with Skepta\’s public rebuke. A source told Page Six that North, who was reportedly at the show without parents Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, “wasn\’t uncomfortable at all and just wasn\’t sure if [Sinet] wanted to shake hands or hug.”
The exchange highlights how quickly a short moment—an extended hand, a side hug, a flashbulb snapshot—can become a cultural flashpoint when it involves celebrity children. For Skepta, the clip was less about manners and more about a principle: respect for the signals given by a minor.
Elsewhere in Paris that week, Skepta himself had been spotted at the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show on June 23, 2026, a reminder that even within fashion\’s social whirl the conversation about boundaries is bleeding into public discourse.
Whether you read the clip as an awkward misread or a moment that deserved rebuke, the incident has opened up a wider conversation about how adults interact with young people in high-profile settings—and who gets to call out the behavior when it happens.
