Big Tigger Steps Back From the Mic After Arrest on Aggravated Battery, Cruelty-to-Children Charges

That is precisely what Big Tigger — the long-running V-103 morning presence and familiar face on BET stages — announced he would do after his June 20 arrest on charges of aggravated battery and cruelty-to-children.

On Sunday, July 5, the Atlanta host posted a short but pointed message to his Instagram account explaining that the swirl of allegations and public speculation had made his personal life too visible to continue working.

His statement

“For as long as I6ve been in this industry, my focus has always been to keep the spotlight on the culture and the incredible people I get to interview,” he wrote. “But right now, my personal life is in the public eye and has become the subject of overwhelming speculation and misinformation.”

“Through all of this, what hurts the most is being away from my son,” he added. “Nothing is more important to me than being a great father. So I6ve decided to step away from the mic for a while to focus on my family and give my legal team the room they need.”

He also reiterated his denial of claims that he assaulted his wife, Alicia Brown, during an alleged altercation in their Georgia home in May.

Following the arrest, Brown was granted temporary custody of the couple6s minor children and exclusive use of the residence. Court paperwork indicates a hearing on the matter is scheduled for July 13.

The announcement shifts the immediate focus from Tigger6s on-air duties to his personal and legal situation. While he has built his career by amplifying hip-hop culture and hosting high-profile interviews, he now says his priority is parenting and allowing his legal team to work without the added pressure of public appearances.
