Young Thug Shuts Down Gunna’s ‘Dollaz on My Head’ Mid-Store Visit
Young Thug told a New York store employee to skip Gunna’s 'Dollaz on My Head' during a shopping trip, underscoring their ongoing tension.
The distance between Young Thug and Gunna still looks very real, and Thug made that plain during a shopping trip in New York City on Wednesday, July 8. While he was inside a store, Gunna’s 2020 song Dollaz on My Head started playing over the speakers. Thug did not let it ride for long.
“Next song, sir,” he told a store employee, then repeated the request a second time to make sure the point landed. The track was changed soon after.
It was a small moment, but hardly a subtle one. The brief exchange added another public layer to a relationship that has seemed strained for some time, especially since Gunna entered his plea deal in the YSL RICO case in 2022.
At the time, Gunna denounced YSL after confirming in court that the group was a violent street gang. Thug did not appear to take that lightly. When Gunna was released from jail, there was already speculation about tension between the former collaborators, and that speculation hardened after Thug’s own jail release nearly two years later in 2024.
Since then, Thug has used social media to send out a series of cryptic posts that many fans have read as shots at Gunna. Several people in Thug’s circle have also been openly critical of the Wun of One rapper. In 2025, Gunna covered up his YSL tattoo, which prompted another response from Thug on Instagram.
“I mean… he said it must end lol,” Thugger wrote.
