Tom Hardy’s Rap Alias Frankie Pulitzer Lands a Czarface Album

Tom Hardy’s long-running rap side quest is finally turning into a full project. The British actor, now best known as an Oscar-nominated screen presence, is linking up with Czarface for a new album called Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer, with Hardy rapping under the name Frankie Pulitzer, a.k.a. Face Puller.

The collaboration had already been in motion since June, when Czarface, the group made up of Inspectah Deck, 7L and Esoteric, began teasing the idea publicly. In one video posted to the group’s Instagram, Hardy spoke in an American accent and hinted at something to come, offering the brief promise that “all will be revealed soon.”

On June 25, the first taste of the project arrived with “Brothers Grimm,” along with confirmation that a full-length album was on the way. For anyone paying closer attention, the move is less random than it might first appear. Hardy has been rapping since he was a teenager and once signed a record deal at 15 under the name Tommy No. 1. He also recorded an 18-track mixtape, Falling On Your Arse, in 1999, though it never came out.

Hardy has been candid about how difficult that earlier version of his music career was to take seriously. In a 2011 interview with BBC, he said, “Because I come from a nice middle-class neighborhood, it was a very hard sell. And I wasn’t very good.” At the time, he added that he expected rap to return someday “in a film one day” or “a character somewhere.” In 2026, Frankie Pulitzer is the answer to that prediction.

The album Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer is set to run 15 tracks deep and includes guest spots from Busta Rhymes, Method Man and El-P. It arrives on Aug. 28.
