YoungBoy Never Broke Again previews a Gillie Da Kid diss that references YNG Cheese, prompting Gillie's calm Instagram Live response.

The tension came out of nowhere, especially given that YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Gillie Da Kid had once shared a far friendlier moment on Gillie and Wallo’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. This week, though, YB turned that history sideways with a snippet previewed on social media, and he didn’t just throw a jab at Gillie. He dragged the Philadelphia rapper’s son into it.
On Tuesday, July 14, YB previewed the line, “Had thought bout killin’ Gillie, but that b**ch ain’t kill none about his son.” Gillie’s son, YNG Cheese, was killed in a Philadelphia shooting in 2023. Gillie later said in 2025 that police told him drill rapper Noah Scurry was responsible for the killing; Scurry had also been shot and killed earlier that year.
Within hours of the snippet making the rounds, Gillie addressed it on Instagram Live. Speaking calmly, he made clear that if he ever did decide to act on something as serious as avenging his son’s death, it would not be something he’d telegraph online.
“I’m an old school n**ga,” Gillie said. “We don’t say what we was going to do on the internet and all that type of sh*t. That’s kid sh*t. Like if you were going to do something, you would’ve done it.”
He didn’t frame himself as rattled by the diss either, instead treating it as part of rap’s usual rough edges.
“I don’t take it no type of way,” he said. “You can’t make me feel no type of way mentioning my son. I already come to grips with what happened. […] I’m not threatened.”
Elsewhere, the snippet and Gillie’s response kept circulating alongside the older footage of the two together, a reminder that rap’s alliances can curdle fast, even when the history wasn’t always hostile to begin with. Check out YB’s snippet and Gillie’s full response below.
