Davion Murphy, One of Foolio’s Convicted Killers, Gets Five More Years Added to Life Sentence

By the time Davion Murphy appeared in court this week, the life sentence he is already serving had long since made any extra prison time feel almost symbolic. Still, the ruling landed: one of Foolio’s four convicted killers has now been given five additional years behind bars after a separate case involving an alleged attack on a corrections officer.

According to documents obtained by XXL on Thursday, July 16, Murphy had a hearing on Wednesday, July 15, where the added sentence was handed down. The case stems from a February arrest, when he reportedly got into a physical altercation with a corrections officer while incarcerated, allegedly punching the officer in the face.

Court records show Murphy signed a guilty plea on June 29. The new five-year term will run concurrently with the life sentence he is already serving, and he has been credited with 536 days of time served.

The plea came only a week after Murphy and his three co-defendants, Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright and Rashad Murphy, were each sentenced to life in prison for their roles in the June 2024 killing of Foolio. At that sentencing, each man was given a chance to address the court. Murphy used his turn to maintain his innocence and to deliver a brief warning to younger listeners in his generation.
