Court Filing Says Pooh Shiesty Allegedly Paid Men $5,000 to Help Rob and Kidnap Gucci Mane

As the case around Gucci Mane’s alleged kidnapping and robbery continues to unfold, a new court filing says Pooh Shiesty allegedly paid men $5,000 apiece to take part in the attack.

On Tuesday, July 14, prosecutors responding to codefendant Terrance Rodgers’ request for a detention hearing argued that Rodgers had a history of criminal conduct and was deeply involved in the incident, which they say was not a one-man move or some spur-of-the-moment decision. According to the filing, Rodgers and others were compensated for their roles in the robbery and kidnapping.

“Rodgers did not participate in this offense based on pure altruism alone. Instead, Rodgers appeared to have been compensated for his role,” the government wrote. The filing also includes photos that show Rodgers flashing cash and displaying a watch authorities say was taken from one of Gucci Mane’s associates during the Jan. 10 incident.

Investigators also pulled a message from Rodgers’ phone that appears to reference payment for the robbery. In the exchange, the sender writes:

“Stupid b**ch a*s ni**a yo whole crew full of lames ni**a paid y’all 5K a piece for a 15mill hit y’all some suckas,”

Pooh Shiesty, his father, Big30 and six other men were arrested in April and charged in connection with the alleged kidnapping and robbery of Gucci Mane and others at a Dallas recording studio. Prosecutors say the group forced Gucci to release Pooh from his 1017 recording contract at gunpoint.

Pooh Shiesty has already been denied bond. His detention hearing is scheduled for July 21, with the trial set to begin next February.
