Diddy’s Twin Daughters Jessie and D’Lila Speak Out After His 50-Month Sentence
Jessie and D’Lila Combs speak for the first time since Diddy’s 50-month prison sentence, saying they’re focused on their own path.
The Combs family has spent much of the summer under a harsh spotlight, but Jessie and D’Lila Combs are drawing a line between their own work and the legal storm surrounding their father. On Thursday, July 17, the twins gave their first interview since Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison, and the conversation with Entertainment Tonight centered on their new clothing line, 12TWINTY1, as much as it did on their family name.
What came through most clearly was the sisters’ insistence on being seen as separate from the headlines that continue to follow their father. D’Lila put it plainly:
“People fail to realize that just because he’s our dad doesn’t mean like, his press is his own press. Our press is our own press. Like people fail to understand that we are also individuals. Like it’s separate. So I don’t have any fear.”
Jessie echoed that point, framing the moment less as a setback than a pressure test the twins are determined to keep moving through.
“I just feel like we’ve never like allowed any of that to like stop us. Like we have to keep going. And it’s honestly just made us push and work harder because you know we’re not going to stop.”
Diddy is currently serving the sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. When the interview turned toward him, the twins said he has remained committed to self-improvement and to showing up for his family, even from behind bars. Jessie said,
“He’s been very focused, you know, like being a better person for his family and yeah, he’s been very focused and he’s just always been there for us.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the sisters pointed to the structure they’ve leaned on over the years: each other, their siblings, and the way they were raised. Jessie said that having a twin has helped them through difficult stretches, along with the presence of other family members.
“I feel like honestly having a twin and having other siblings has really helped because you always have people that are there. But also like our parents just also like raised us to be strong. So honestly, it’s just like we’re so grateful for that strength.”
