Alley Boy’s daughter says the Atlanta rapper is still alive after false death reports spread online.

In Atlanta rap, rumors travel fast, but this time Alley Boy’s daughter moved quickly to shut one down. On Monday, July 20, she took to Instagram to tell fans that her father is still alive after widespread reports claimed otherwise.
Her message was blunt and emotional: “My daddy is NOT dead. Please stop spreading false information and posting things before you know the truth,” she wrote. “I appreciate everyone who’s reached out and checked on me. I don’t have the strength to respond to everyone but I’m so thankful!”
She added, “I LOVE YALL. Please keep me & my family in your prayers we really need it!!” and closed with, “GOD HAS THE LAST SAY SO” followed by a heart emoji.
Alley Boy’s place in Atlanta rap runs deep. Born Curt Freeman, he co-founded Duct Tape Entertainment with Big Bank Black and landed distribution through Asylum Records. He first broke through with the 2009 mixtape Da Don, then followed with his debut studio album, The Gift Of Discernment, in 2011. Over the years, he became a familiar name in Southern rap circles, working with Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, Childish Gambino, Juicy J, and Freddie Gibbs.
His health has been public, too. In recent interviews, Alley Boy has spoken candidly about kidney disease and linked it to years of heavy Codeine cough syrup use, also known as lean. He began dialysis in 2023 and, by 2024, was going as often as three times a week while still seeking a kidney transplant that never came through.
“I was put on dialysis a month ago…changed my whole life,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “WHAT WAS MEANT TO DESTROY ME WOKE ME UP NOW I KNOW MY PURPOSE… TELL MY STORY #INEEDAKIDNEY #FOREVERSCARED.”
Elsewhere, Alley Boy had appeared in an in-depth conversation with Dreadboi Films Domain, where he talked through his journey, Atlanta street culture, the music industry, and his views on some of hip-hop’s biggest names.
For now, the only thing that matters is the correction his daughter made herself: Alley Boy is not dead.
