Quando Rondo Pops Up on Adrien Broner’s FaceTime After Prison Release
Quando Rondo appeared on Adrien Broner’s FaceTime while on DeenTheGreat’s livestream, a month after his federal prison release.
Quando Rondo’s return to public view came in an unexpected place: Adrien Broner’s FaceTime on DeenTheGreat’s livestream. The moment, which aired on Wednesday (July 22), arrived barely a month after the Atlanta rapper was released from federal custody and sent to a halfway house in Atlanta.
AB was on the stream when a video call from Quando came through. “I’m really home,” Quando says in the clip. Broner, who has long moved between boxing rings and internet loose ends with equal ease, didn’t waste time on the exchange. “I’m proud of you, bro,” he says back. “It’s time to run that sh*t up, gang.”
The call also offered a small glimpse of what Quando says is next. Speaking to AB, he brought up linking up once he’s freer to move around. “When I get off the leg monitor, we gotta do a stream,” Quando says. It’s a short exchange, but one that lands with the kind of plainspoken relief that tends to define these public check-ins after a stretch away.
In June, Quando was released from the Edgefield Federal Correctional Institution in South Carolina to a halfway house in Atlanta after serving 15 months in federal prison on drug conspiracy charges. XXL has reached out to Quando Rondo’s team for comment.
His legal case dates back to December 2023, when he was arrested and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances including fentanyl, cocaine and other narcotics. By August 2024, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute controlled substances, specifically marijuana.
He ultimately served 16 months of a 33-month sentence before being transferred in June to a residential reentry program to finish out the remainder of that sentence. A few days later, on June 26, he released 16 Months, a project that includes a guest appearance from the late Lil Poppa, via 16 Months.
For now, that FaceTime call is the clearest sign that Quando is back in circulation, even if only partially. And on the internet, sometimes that’s enough to set the next chapter in motion.
