Diddy’s release date at Fort Dix has moved up again, even after reports that he was involved in a prison fight.

Even with reports swirling that Diddy was involved in a prison fight, the incarcerated music executive’s release date has been pushed forward once more.
According to an inmate record at New Jersey’s Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute, his new release date is now Jan. 24, 2028. That marks another shift in a sentence timeline that has changed repeatedly over the past few months. Diddy, 56, was originally set to be released on June 4, 2028, before his sentence was reduced by 40 days in March, moving the date to April 25, 2028. Then in June it changed again, landing on Feb. 23, 2028, before the current January date appeared.
The update arrives after TMZ reported on July 24 that Puff was involved in an altercation at Fort Dix FCI, where he is serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution related charges. According to the report, the Bad Boy Entertainment founder “ran the fade” with another inmate after being dissed. An insider told the site that Diddy “held his own” during the brief exchange before corrections officers stepped in and broke it up.
TMZ also reported that he was placed in a SHU, or Special Housing Unit, the separate block of cells used for solitary confinement. There’s still no confirmation on whether he has since been returned to the general population, and it remains unclear whether the reported incident will affect the latest release date.
When XXL reached out for comment, a spokesperson for Fort Dix said, “the Federal Bureau of Prisons does not disclose disciplinary matters or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety and security concerns.”
