Diddy’s Prison Release Date Is Pushed Back Again as Feds Forfeit $9,000 Cash and Electronics

Diddy’s prison timeline has shifted again. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the former rap mogul’s release date has been pushed from Jan. 24, 2028 to Feb. 20, 2028, adding another month to a schedule that has already moved several times this year. The latest change may be tied to a July fight involving Diddy and another inmate, though no official explanation has been confirmed.

The date has been a moving target for months. It was first listed as June 4, 2028, then shortened by 40 days in March to April 25, 2028. By June, it had shifted again to Feb. 23, 2028, before landing on Jan. 24, 2028, and now Feb. 20, 2028. The back-and-forth adds another layer to a case that has remained closely watched since his conviction.

In October 2025, Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being found guilty on prostitution-related charges. His legal team is still challenging that sentence, arguing that it was far too harsh given that the jury cleared the 56-year-old executive of the most serious racketeering counts.

Elsewhere in the case, Judge Arun Subramanian, who oversaw Diddy’s criminal trial, signed an order on Tuesday (Aug. 4) forfeiting property seized during Diddy’s arrest at the Park Hyatt Hotel on Sept. 16, 2024. In documents obtained by XXL, authorities listed $9,000 in cash along with electronics including multiple iPhones, hard drives and a MacBook Pro.

The court filing also covers items taken during the raid on Diddy’s Los Angeles home on March 25, 2024. Those records show the seizure of multiple hard drives, thumb drives, iPhones, several MacBook Pro computers, iPads and Sony DVCAM video cassette tapes labeled “Ibiza Tapes,” among other property.

Because no one challenged the forfeiture and the 30-day notice period passed without objection, Judge Subramanian authorized federal authorities to move forward with the legal disposal of the confiscated items.
