Prosecutors Say They Have More Than 90GB of Evidence in Rod Wave’s 2025 Shooting Case

In Rod Wave’s 2025 shooting case, the paperwork is already piling up. Prosecutors say they have turned over more than 90GB of evidence to the rapper’s defense team, a haul that includes 1,900 photos and 111 videos, according to a court filing revealed on July 31.

Rod Wave is facing 14 charges tied to an incident that unfolded in Atlanta in April 2025. The list includes aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, pointing or aiming a gun at another person, reckless conduct and criminal damage to property.

Police say the situation escalated after Rod and an associate got into a verbal argument outside his Milton, Ga. home, leading Rod to fire multiple shots that struck several vehicles. Authorities say the confrontation happened after a burglary at the rap-crooner’s home.

Rod has pleaded not guilty. When he was arrested, his attorney, Drew Findling, pushed back hard on the case against him.

"There is no truth to these charges," Findling said in a statement to XXL. "Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green."

The case is now set to return to court on Sept. 28. XXL has also reached out to Rod Wave’s attorney for comment.

Elsewhere, Rod is still moving ahead with the release of his new album Don’t Look Down, which is expected to arrive alongside a tour of the same name beginning Sept. 12. The arrest and the album rollout are now sitting in the same frame, even if they clearly belong to very different chapters of his year.
