NBA YoungBoy Says He Made Up to $1.5 Million Per MASA Tour Show

For an artist who has often kept his distance from the spotlight, NBA YoungBoy can still pull a headline out of nowhere. In a new interview on Open Thoughts With Funny Marco, the Louisiana rapper, born YoungBoy Never Broke Again, talked through some of the biggest markers in his career, including just how much money he says he was taking home on the MASA Tour.

The interview, a Wave Original, debuted on YouTube on Tuesday, Aug. 11, and finds the usually guarded rapper speaking with unusual bluntness about the scale of his recent run. “I’m a very natural person, but most of my achievements came very unexpectedly,” YB said. “I used to tell myself I’ll never get $100,000 a show. Each show on the MASA Tour, I got $1.5 [million]…Nothing less than $1.2 a night. I’ll never believe no sh*t like [that].”

He kept circling back to the same kind of disbelief when the conversation turned to the larger arc of his success. “I never thought about actually having a No. 1 album and all that,” he added. “I always wanted it. I always said I wanted it. But you will never actually believe that sh*t, my dude.”

The numbers behind the 2025 MASA Tour were already eye-catching. The 42-show trek became the highest-grossing tour from a debut headlining rapper, bringing in just over $70 million. YoungBoy’s per-show figure only adds another layer to a run that had already marked a major commercial peak.

Elsewhere in the interview, he made another striking claim: that he plans to retire after releasing one or two more albums and completing one more tour. He also said he is spending a considerable amount of time overseas and that he will not be returning to the United States.
