Megan Thee Stallion Teams With Interscope for Next Album While Keeping Masters and Publishing

Megan Thee Stallion is heading into her next chapter with a new major-label distribution arrangement, but she is not giving up control to do it. On Friday, Aug. 14, the Houston rapper announced a partnership with Interscope Records that will see the label handle global distribution and strategic support for her upcoming releases while Megan keeps full ownership of her masters and publishing.

She will continue releasing music through her independent company, Hot Girl Productions, with Roc Nation also part of the setup. It is the kind of structure that fits the way Megan has increasingly framed her career: big enough to move globally, still tightly held on her own terms.

“I’ve always wanted to create music on my terms while building a legacy that extends beyond the industry,” Megan said in a statement. “This distribution partnership with Interscope allows me to stay true to my creative vision while also increasing my global reach.”

Interscope Capitol Vice Chairman Steve Berman praised the move by calling Megan a “singular artist” whose rise has consistently shaped culture, while Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez pointed to her commitment to ownership and creative freedom. Perez said the partnership will give the teams access to Interscope’s global resources without undercutting Meg’s independence.

The announcement lands not long after Megan confirmed in an interview with Michelle Obama that a new album is on the way and that it will bring back her alter ego, Tina Snow. The project is currently being referred to as Act III, and Megan said it would feature tracks that will “gag” the collective while also rewarding the more niche corners of her fan base.

“I feel like Act III is going to be one of my favorite projects I ever put out because I definitely took my time with this one,” Meg added.

A release date has not yet been confirmed.
