Ye says only Yeezy can draw 120,000 people a night as the brand returns to stores and previews new footwear.

Ye is once again putting the weight of his fashion empire front and center, insisting that no other brand can match the draw of Yeezy when it comes to turning out crowds. On Monday, Aug. 17, he took to X to make the case in blunt terms, writing that “there’s no brand other than Yeezy that can bring out 120,000 people a night.”
The claim is the latest in a run of grand statements about where Yeezy sits in the culture. Only days before, Ye had framed the label in near-mythic terms, comparing it to Apple and posting that “Yeezy is Apple of clothing.” It is the kind of rhetoric he has long used around his work, but this time it lands alongside an actual shift in the brand’s business footing.
After four years with little to no presence in physical retail, Yeezy has returned to stores through JD Stores this month with the release of its YZY Slides. For the brand, it marks a notable step back into traditional distribution after the 2022 split from Adidas ended its retail pipeline.
Elsewhere, Ye has already been looking ahead to what comes next. Earlier this month, he previewed a slate of new footwear, among them the Yeezy 800. The all-black sneaker leans on layered construction, combining mesh, leather and suede on the upper, while a chunky sole extends the mesh treatment around the bottom.
He has also shared several military-influenced boots, including a high-top boot version of the 800s that surfaced more recently. A release date for the 800 boots has not been set, though the sneakers are expected to arrive at retail in December.
