Hernandez Govan, acquitted in the Young Dolph trial, was arrested June 12 on alleged cyberstalking and harassment charges tied to threats against a former girlfriend.

Hernandez Govan, the man acquitted in the high-profile Young Dolph murder trial, is facing a new cloud of allegations after an arrest last Friday tied to an alleged campaign of threatening calls and messages directed at a former girlfriend.
Memphis police say officers answered a domestic violence-related call on June 4 after the woman told authorities she had been receiving disturbing texts from Govan. The arrest followed on June 12, when Govan was taken into custody and booked on charges that prosecutors describe as harassment and stalking.
Court documents reviewed by XXL say the dispute began over roughly $540 Govan had given the woman to cover a rental car booking. The papers allege that, after issues arose with the reservation, she was initially told to keep the cash — only for Govan to later demand it back and begin sending menacing messages.
“The National Guard can’t save you, they can’t be there forever.”
According to investigators, the woman told police she was afraid for her life and the safety of her child and asked officers to clear her home to make sure Govan was not inside. She also accused him of threatening to post explicit videos of her online and of threatening to have someone “shoot up” her house.
Following the arrest, Govan’s bond was set at $4,000. WREG reports he remains in custody and is due back in court Thursday afternoon, June 18. If he posts bond, conditions include no contact with the alleged victim, a ban on firearm possession and prohibitions on social media communication.
Elsewhere, this new federal case arrives less than a year after Govan was acquitted in the 2021 murder of Young Dolph. Prosecutors in that trial argued Govan had played a role in orchestrating the fatal shooting, but a jury found him not guilty.
These latest accusations add another headline to a figure already known beyond Memphis courtrooms. Whether local prosecutors pursue the harassment and stalking counts or federal authorities take on related charges, the renewed attention centers on alleged online intimidation and threats that escalated to fear for a child’s safety.
