Rick Ross Claps Back at 50 Cent and Calls Set in Stone the Album of the Year

Rick Ross fired back at 50 Cent over Set in Stone sales talk, calling the new album the album of the year.

Hip-hop’s longest-running trolling campaign cracked back open this week, with Rick Ross answering 50 Cent’s latest shots by declaring Set in Stone the album of the year.

On Thursday, July 23, Ross addressed 50’s jokes about the supposed weak sales of the Bawse’s new LP in a video posted to his Instagram Story. “Album of the year,” he said. “Whenever the final numbers come in, I’ma throw a party. Because the B.O.A.T. can do this.”

From there, Ross turned the clip into a direct swipe at Fif. “How’s it going in Shreveport?” he asked. “You borrowed all them people money. Did you give the money back?…Give them people back they money, Curtis.”

50 responded on Instagram with his own message, writing, “LOL HE GOT AWAY WITH IT FOR A WHILE, BUT ITS OVER NOW JIG IS UP ! 20 features under 10 thousand sales Damn boy it’s over.”

He followed that with a second post, this time sharing a video of a man talking about Ross’ alleged trouble selling tour tickets. “The Boat sank album went wood LOL Nobody checking for that bullsh*t!” 50 captioned the clip.

The back-and-forth picked up again earlier in the week after 50 claimed Ross had moved just 2,000 copies of Set in Stone, which arrived on July 17. “Yo had 20 features and it didn’t help,” Fif wrote on Instagram. “Alright now pack it up it’s over officer. Get ya bum juice and ya wings and get the f**k up outta here. LOL.”

The official first-week sales figures for Ross’ new album are expected to land at the top of next week.

Elsewhere, the pair’s history of public taunts continues to cast a long shadow over even the smallest sales rumor, with both men treating Instagram like a running side stage for the feud. For now, the numbers are still pending. The jokes, as usual, are not.
