A$AP Rocky Cuts Off Logo Designer After Private DM Is Posted Online
A$AP Rocky ended talks with logo designer Allan Peters after a private Instagram DM was posted publicly.
In the fast-moving economy of social media, even a promising brand conversation can collapse in a matter of minutes. That’s what happened when A$AP Rocky reached out to logo designer Allan Peters on Instagram, only for the exchange to be screenshotted and posted publicly.
On Sunday, August 2, the Harlem rapper contacted Peters to ask about potentially working together on a branding project. The DM was later shared to Peters’ main feed, where Rocky had written,
“Good morning Allan,” the DM read. “How much do u charge for brand logo revisions? Assuming you would be willing to do so I would be honored, love ur work, god bless.”
Peters, who has built a substantial following by posting his design process and sharing branding tips, seemed thrilled by the message. He posted the screenshot with the caption, “I have no words.”
Rocky did not share that enthusiasm once the exchange hit Peters’ feed. He jumped into the comments to make it clear the conversation was done.
“This is just distasteful,” Rocky wrote. “WELL I GUESS WE WON’T BE WORKING. BEST OF LUCK BUDDY.”
The post was quickly deleted by Peters, who has not publicly addressed the fallout. He has, though, continued posting to his Instagram Story, including a message celebrating that he’d hit one million followers.
Rocky has not commented further, but the message was already plain enough: whatever collaboration might have been taking shape is probably off the table now.
