Bodycam Footage Shows Playboi Carti’s 2025 Utah Arrest Amid Assault Allegations

Bodycam footage from Playboi Carti’s 2025 Utah arrest shows police questioning him and Gio as two 911 calls surface.

Newly surfaced bodycam footage has put Playboi Carti’s 2025 arrest back in view, this time through police questions, roadside tension, and the sound of two separate 911 calls. The Atlanta rapper was booked in Wasatch County, Utah, last October while heading to a performance, after allegations that he struck his ex-girlfriend Gio and a limo driver.

On Thursday, July 30, the CufBoys YouTube channel obtained the footage from the incident. In the video, police speak to Carti and Gio separately on the side of the road, trying to piece together what happened after the argument escalated.

Carti tells officers that nobody hit anybody and says his security was only trying to break things up after the driver, in his words, had “tweaked out.” Gio acknowledges that she and Carti were arguing, but she does not say that he hit her. She does, however, say she struck one of the limo drivers after he got involved when the car pulled over.

The footage also includes two 911 calls. In one, the limo driver can be heard calling police while yelling and a woman crying play in the background. He says he wants to formally press charges after being hit by Carti, claiming the exchange started when he tried to move Gio to another vehicle after Carti hit her during an argument in the backseat. A second call came from a bystander who said he saw two men fighting in the street.

Playboi Carti was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault. XXL has reached out to Playboi Carti’s team and the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
