Dame Dash Takes Aim at The Breakfast Club Over Bankruptcy Coverage

Dame Dash has once again found himself at the center of money trouble headlines, and this time he’s directing his frustration at The Breakfast Club. The dispute flared after Loren Lorosa reported on Thursday, Aug. 6, that a trustee in Dash’s bankruptcy case had filed paperwork seeking permission to sell his life rights to satisfy a debt.

The filing, as Lorosa described it, would cover more than just his name. It would include Dash’s life story, voice, image, likeness, biography and identifying characteristics, along with the right to portray the incidents, events and situations tied to his life story from childhood through the petition date.

Dash, who has long had a tense relationship with the radio show, responded soon after with a video posted on social media. In it, he accused the platform of leaning into the worst version of his story while leaving out anything that might reflect him in a better light.

“I just feel like you guys make it too obvious,” Dash said. “Why don’t you ever talk about any of the good stuff? Are you guys trying to line me up? Are you guys trying to amplify a narrative?”

“Why are you the voice of everything bad and nothing good, Loren?” he added. “It’s like a case study on stupidity, or alleged Devil worship. I don’t know. Either way, I’m hustling,” he added, before plugging his BET show OG Stories.

Lorosa responded on Friday, Aug. 7, saying she had no personal issue with Dash and was simply covering a story that she believed mattered to her audience. In other words, the exchange was less an isolated flare-up than another chapter in a longer public friction that seems to resurface whenever Dash’s business troubles enter the conversation.
