Desiigner Arrested Again on Domestic Violence Charges in South Carolina

By mid-summer, Desiigner was back in custody in Horry County, S.C., facing another domestic violence case just four months after a previous arrest involving the same woman. This time, according to arrest records, the Brooklyn rapper was booked on Wednesday, July 15, and remains jailed on charges of second-degree domestic violence and three counts of malicious injury to animals/personal property.

The account outlined by South Carolina station WBTW 13 centers on an argument at home that reportedly began over Desiigner taking TVs off the wall. Police say the woman told them the dispute escalated when he allegedly smashed her phones with a hammer. She then grabbed a child and ran toward a neighbor’s house for help. According to her statement, Desiigner chased her, pushed her to the ground and threw her purse over a fence.

The police report adds another layer to that sequence: after the woman got inside the neighbor’s home, Desiigner allegedly damaged the neighbor’s vehicles using a hammer and a screwdriver.

The new arrest follows his March case, when he was taken in for third-degree domestic violence after what authorities said was an altercation with the same woman. Audio from the 911 call he placed during that incident later surfaced, capturing him arguing with her and telling her to kill herself while also telling the dispatcher that he was suicidal. He was released then on a $1,500 bond.

His next court date is set for Oct. 16. XXL has reached out to Desiigner’s team and the Horry County Sheriff’s Office for comment.

Elsewhere, the rapper’s legal troubles continue to sit uncomfortably alongside the rest of his public story, which in hip-hop terms has often been less about momentum than interruption.
