Drake, BossMan Dlow and Doechii land on Barack Obama’s 2026 Summer Playlist

Barack Obama’s annual Summer Playlist has become its own small cultural event by now, the kind of list that can make room for a little bit of everything and still end up telling you something about what’s moving through pop, rap and R&B at the moment. For 2026, hip-hop once again has a sturdy presence on the former president’s picks, with Drake, BossMan Dlow and Doechii all making the cut.

Obama shared the list on Thursday, July 30, and as usual it stretches across genres. Doechii appears with SZA on their 2025 collaboration “girl, get up,” while Drake is on the playlist with “Ran to Atlanta,” a standout from ICEMAN that also features Future and Molly Santana. BossMan Dlow is there too with “Motion Party,” another reminder that the Florida rapper’s rise has kept pushing him further into the mainstream conversation.

He noticed, too. In the comments under Obama’s Instagram post, Dlow wrote, “It’s A Motion Party We Gotta Let Obama Innn!”

Elsewhere on the playlist, Vince Staples shows up with “White Flag,” while A Tribe Called Quest are represented by the classic “Award Tour,” featuring the late Trugoy The Dove. Damian Marley and Nas’ 2005 track “Road to Zion” also earns a place, alongside Anderson .Paak’s “Yada Yada.” The mix is broad, but the rap choices stand out enough to make the playlist feel less like a ceremonial celebrity post and more like a genuinely idiosyncratic snapshot of what’s in circulation.

Obama’s aux cord, at least for summer 2026, looks to be in decent shape. The playlist is out now for anyone looking to borrow a few songs for their own rotation.
