Fans Credit Wu-Tang Clan’s Halftime Set for Knicks’ 29-Point Comeback Win

After rallying from 29 down to win 107-106 on June 10, Knicks fans credited Wu-Tang Clan’s halftime medley with sparking the comeback.

New York’s improbable comeback in Game 4 — overturning a 29-point second-half deficit to beat the Spurs 107-106 on Wednesday night, June 10 — left a city convinced of a supernatural assist: Wu-Tang Clan’s halftime set.

The Staten Island-born collective took the halftime stage at Madison Square Garden and delivered a medley that included “Wu Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthin Ta F Wit,” “Method Man” and “C.R.E.A.M.” Some fans immediately treated the set like a rallying cry, crediting the performance with flipping the energy in the building and, by extension, the scoreboard.

“Is everybody just gonna act like Wu-Tang Clan didn’t completely change the New York Knicks at halftime?”

Elsewhere in the series, the Knicks have leaned into homegrown pageantry: Cardi B performed at Game 3, and Game 4’s halftime return to local talent felt like part of a larger, very New York narrative. The theatrics onstage and the urgency on the court have fed into each other as the Finals have tightened.

With the comeback win, New York is now one victory away from its first NBA championship since 1973. They’ll try to close it out on the road in San Antonio when Game 5 takes place on Saturday, June 13.
