Lil Baby is back in album mode, and he’s chosen a Pharrell-produced single to set the pace. On Thursday, July 16, the Atlanta rapper posted a TikTok video that made the next chapter feel official enough: a new album is coming.
“Album time,” he says while panning across what appears to be a room full of team members and label reps. Then, with the sort of loose certainty that tends to mean something in rap rollouts, he adds, “This muthaf**ka getting steady.”
Just hours later, Baby released the project’s lead single, “Dead Fresh.” The track had already been floated by Pharrell at Louis Vuitton’s Menswear Spring-Summer 2027 show in Paris back in June, where P also teased a few other new collaborations, including “Haavin” with Quavo and “Simulation” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
Speaking to the rollout, Baby also hinted on Instagram Story that a golf-inspired video for “Dead Fresh,” directed by Kid Art, is set to arrive on Monday, July 20. The visual detail is specific enough to suggest the album campaign is already moving fast.
The as-yet untitled LP will be Lil Baby’s fifth solo studio album. It follows WHAM, which arrived in January 2025 and included appearances from Young Thug, Future, GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, Rod Wave, Travis Scott and 21 Savage. That album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 140,000 equivalent album units in its first week, extending Baby’s streak to four straight No. 1 debuts.
