Lil Poppa’s Son’s Mom Accuses Manager Dee Dee of Falling in Love and Stealing Money

When conversations around Lil Poppa turned from music to his death and the fallout that followed, one of the loudest voices came in the form of a furious Instagram Story. On Monday, June 29, the mother of the late rapper’s three-year-old son publicly accused his manager, known as Dee Dee, of crossing professional and personal lines.
The exchange was set off by an interview Dee Dee gave to Big Bank on his Perspektives with Bank podcast, which premiered on YouTube. In clips from that sit-down, Dee Dee blamed Toie Roberts — Lil Poppa’s son’s mother — for restricting the rapper’s access to their child, Kofi J’nar, and asserted that those limitations contributed to Poppa’s reported depression.
Roberts met those claims with an unfiltered rebuttal on Instagram. Her posts leveled a series of explosive accusations at Dee Dee, including that the manager had fallen in love with Poppa and engaged in an inappropriate relationship with him.
“You’re sick. A 50 year old tied a*s wh**e who fell in love with a young a** boy you were supposed to be ‘managing,'” she wrote. “Your beef with me was always about the ni**a who was never yours but it was never about Poppa with me,” she continued. “It was about my respect & boundaries from jump h*e. About you doing all the conniving sick s**t you doing for years.”
Beyond the allegation of an intimate relationship, Roberts accused Dee Dee of stealing from Poppa and of using her as a convenient scapegoat for the rapper’s mental-health struggles. She suggested that the decline began after Poppa discovered the purported theft.
“He was onto you just like everybody else,” she wrote. “That’s why you’re going so hard to point the finger at me but [I] can take that when [I] know Janarious knew deep down what it was with me & what it was with you, snake a*s b**ch.”
Janarious Mykel Wheeler, known professionally as Lil Poppa, was 25. Roberts’ posts referenced their son, Kofi J’nar, and framed the dispute as being as much about custody and respect as about money or reputation.
Dee Dee’s remarks on the Perspektives with Bank episode and Roberts’ Instagram messages appear alongside one another in the clip package circulating online, and the back-and-forth has only intensified scrutiny of the relationships that moved around the rapper in life.
