The long shadow of Nipsey Hussle’s death has taken another turn: the late rapper’s estate has been settled and his assets have been distributed to his children, according to a representative’s statement released on July 7.
“The estate has been finalized, and Nipsey’s assets have been distributed to their rightful beneficiaries, his children. We are grateful to have reached this milestone and remain committed to honoring Nipsey’s legacy while protecting the privacy of his loved ones. Thank you to everyone who continues to support that legacy.”
That update accompanies reports that the roughly $11 million estate — by some estimates — has begun paying out. On July 7, TMZ reported that Nipsey’s daughter, Emani, 17, and son, Kross, 9, have each received their share. The exact dollar totals were not disclosed, but the payout purportedly includes stakes in several businesses, among them The Marathon Clothing, plus multiple trademarks tied to Hussle’s brand.
XXL has reached out to Nipsey Hussle’s team for further comment, and the update from the estate’s rep appears to confirm that distribution has occurred.
How the pieces fit
The current moment traces back through a string of estate details that have been public since Nipsey’s death in 2019. Earlier reporting indicated that Kross’ mother, actress Lauren London, would receive $5.6 million and 50 percent of The Marathon Clothing on Kross’ behalf. That arrangement — and the preservation of Hussle’s business interests — has figured heavily in conversations about how the family would be cared for financially.
Elsewhere, the family has said corporate partners stepped in after Nipsey’s passing. In 2023, Nipsey’s brother, Blacc Sam, who administers the estate, spoke about Puma‘s involvement and the way the brand honored Hussle’s agreements.
“As far as Puma, with us, they really close to our heart because they gave Hussle a deal,” Blacc Sam told the Earn Your Leisure podcast. “Within that deal he told them, ‘Listen, I appreciate but within my deal you need to write in once a year you need to a deal with my clothing brand.’ And then, after everything [Nipsey’s death], they came make to the table and made sure the kids was set up straight.”
Blacc Sam has previously said Puma continued to support the family financially, including regular contributions to a trust established for Nipsey’s children.
For fans, the finalization of the estate is another chapter in the long effort to preserve Hussle’s legacy both culturally and commercially. His music and business ventures have stayed in the conversation — a reminder that his career was as much about entrepreneurship as it was about records.
Speaking of music, Nipsey’s work will continue to arrive posthumously. On Aug. 14, the new Nipsey and Bino Rideaux joint project PROLIFIC is due via DPS, led by singles including “Reckless” featuring Static Major, “Sacrifices” featuring James Fauntleroy and “All Summer” with BH.
In the end, the distribution of assets to Emani and Kross is both a legal milestone and a quiet, private reckoning: the business structures Hussle built are now the means by which his immediate family will be cared for, and by which his name will continue to be stewarded.
