North West Debuts Lip and Facial Piercings at Paris Fashion Week

At Paris Fashion Week on June 26, 2026, North West arrived at the Vetements Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show with a look that read louder than the front row chatter. The 13-year-old daughter of Ye debuted new facial work: two spike studs in her top lip, a bridge piercing and a dermal stud on her cheek, all set off by a blue wig and punk-leaning accessories including a spiked choker and matching wristband.

The appearance was as much about image as it was about placement. Photographs from the runway captured the small, angular details of the piercings against the exaggerated Vetements styling, which has a way of turning private gestures into public statements.

Elsewhere at the show, an interaction between North and model Matteo Sinet became a social media flashpoint. While North extended a hand to shake, Matteo moved in for a side hug, and the moment drew a sharp reaction from grime MC Skepta on social platforms.

“A blind man could see she wanted a handshake kmt,” Skepta wrote, before adding, “My fans know I try to stay out of peoples business but damn the way grown men, complete strangers, try to use North makes me sick.”

North has been more visible lately as she pursues a rap path of her own. In February she released her debut single "Piercing on My Hand." In May she followed with her first EP, NOrth4evr, and earlier this month she teamed with Lil Wayne’s son Lil Novi on the track “Mula Tha Root of All Evil.” She is signed to Gamma, the same label that partnered with Ye on his Bully album.

Whether the piercings are personal experimentation or part of a carefully managed public persona, the images from Vetements make clear that North is testing how her music, fashion and family spotlight will intersect in public.
