Slayr, Chris Patrick and More Keep the 2026 XXL Freshman Cypher Rolling in Bonus Footage

XXL had already wrapped the main event for its 2026 Freshman Cypher, but the cameras stayed on long enough to catch a little more of the energy in the room. The result is a bonus cypher, powered by Puma, with Chris Patrick, La Reezy, Sosocamo, Slayr, Miles Minnick and Hurricane Wisdom trading off-the-top bars and cracking each other up between lines.

Over Jay Trench’s driving beat, the six Freshmen move through the session with the looseness that only comes after the formal take is done. Sosocamo opens with a quick “Whoa!” that sets Slayr off, and he responds with a burst of speed-rap braggadocio: “Tryin’ to beat me might as well hit the rollie/I’m runnin’ so fast/Runnin’ so fast that I’m tired/Runnin’ so fast that I’m tired,” he raps.

Hurricane Wisdom follows with a particularly raunchy line that sends the room into laughter, and Chris Patrick uses that momentum to shift the cypher back toward a steadier balance of self-assurance and confession. “If I tell you the s**t that I know, these ni**as will hate me, God,” he spits.

La Reezy picks up that thread almost immediately, repeating, “These ni**as will hate me, God/These ni**as will hate me, God,” before adding, “In 20 some years I’ll show my babies that I was the man, God.”

Elsewhere, Miles Minnick closes things out with a verse that folds praise into the brag, ending the bonus footage on a note that feels both celebratory and self-aware. It’s a loose, unscripted coda to the original cypher, and one that lets the Freshmen’s chemistry breathe a little longer.
