A newly released 911 call reveals Tay Keith's girlfriend requested a welfare check before the producer was found dead in his Nashville apartment.

When a producer who had become a quiet fixture in contemporary hip-hop failed to answer his phone, the discovery that followed was a blunt reminder of how private grief and public mourning can collide. A 911 call released this week lays out the last known attempts to check on Tay Keith before officers entered his Nashville apartment and found him dead.
On Monday (June 22), TMZ obtained the dispatch audio of the emergency call that culminated in the welfare check. In it, the producer’s girlfriend tells the operator that Tay Keith, born BryTavious Lakeith Chambers, had asked her to stop by the day before, and then did not respond to calls or texts for roughly 24 hours.
“He hasn’t been responding since yesterday,” she says to the dispatcher. “I got here and I was trying to call him to let him know and I haven’t gotten a response since…it’s been 24 hours.”
The woman also told the operator that Tay Keith had breathing problems and high blood pressure. Those details, in the dispatch audio, read as practical markers of worry—specific medical concerns passed to professionals who had to decide whether to force entry.
Police later entered the Nashville residence to conduct the welfare check and discovered Tay Keith deceased. Authorities say no foul play is suspected. A formal cause of death has not been released.
The news has rippled across the music world, with artists including Drake, Travis Scott and Sexyy Red posting tributes on social media. The response has been immediate and public; the facts around his passing remain restrained and procedural.
In a statement released by the family, BryTavious was remembered in intimate terms that contrast with his public persona:
“BryTavious was a beloved son, brother, uncle, family member, and friend. While the world knew him as Tay Keith, his family knew him as BryTavious—a source of love, strength, laughter, and guidance,” the statement reads in part. “We take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the music he created, the opportunities he provided, and the lives he touched. We respectfully ask for privacy and continued prayers for his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Memorial arrangements will be shared at a later date.”
For now, the dispatch audio is one of the few public traces of the hours leading up to the discovery. Hear Tay Keith’s girlfriend’s 911 call below.
