Tyga has announced $tarface the album, a 10-track 1980s-inspired project arriving July 31 with features including Fenix Flexin.

Tyga is taking his $tarface character out of the rollout phase and into full album mode. Just weeks after introducing the 1980s-inspired alter ego, the rapper confirmed on Wednesday, July 22, that $tarface the album will arrive on July 31.
The 10-track project leans harder into Tyga singing than rapping, and it comes with a short list of already familiar songs: “Affection,” “GAVE U RACKS,” and “Lavi$h,” the Fenix Flexin collaboration that the pair previewed the latter song on Instagram in early June. That post picked up a huge response, pulling in more than 13 million views and 15,000 comments in the first two weeks.
The album is built around a specific lane: synth-wave, pop, R&B and funk filtered through a cinematic 1980s lens. Tyga has described it as its own creative world, separate from the rest of his catalog rather than some side note folded into it.
“I wanted this character and music to live on its own,” he said. “This needed to exist separately, to give me complete freedom creatively.”
Elsewhere, that world is described through early-1980s Miami references, with tailored silk looks, vintage luxury and, naturally, a Jheri curl helping shape the persona.
$tarface the album follows Tyga’s 2025 LP NSFW, which featured Big Sean, Flo Milli, Lil Wayne, Shenseea, Cher, Lil Tjay and Ty Dolla $ign. That record marked his first solo release in over six years, making this new project a fairly quick shift into a different register.
