Young Thug Tries to Recruit Quavo to YSL Records

Young Thug appears to be in talent-scouting mode again, and this time Quavo is the artist on the receiving end. The YSL Records boss took to the comments of one of Quavo’s Instagram posts on Monday (Aug. 3) to make his pitch: “Leave capital and come with us brada we need u,” he wrote.

The post in question showed Quavo sharing a carousel of photos from the studio and elsewhere, including one image of the former Migos rapper smoking casually outside Capitol Records, the label he’s currently tied to. Thug’s comment landed there in plain sight, a public nudge from one longtime collaborator to another.

Quavo didn’t answer the invitation, and there’s no indication the situation is changing anytime soon. He’s still signed to Quality Control Records, Capitol’s parent label, and has been for years, which makes Thug’s ask feel more like a friendly flex than a realignment in progress.

Still, the connection between the two has been there for a while. Young Thug and Quavo have linked up repeatedly across their careers, with songs like “Guwop” alongside Offset and Young Scooter, “Pick Up the Phone” with Travis Scott, “Circle of Bosses,” “You Said,” and more sitting in their shared history.

Elsewhere, Thug has been making similar public overtures. Back in June, he went on X to try to recruit Kodak Black to YSL as well. Kodak’s response was less than subtle: a list of demands that included a $100 million signing fee and a collaboration with Thug’s fiancée, Mariah The Scientist. After that, the Young Stoner Life founder went quiet on the “ZeZe” rapper.
